The core business of BRES is
recovery
and recycling of end-of-life IT equipment. This is done through two
major routes; Disposal and Asset Management. Whichever route our
clients wish to take, they can rest assured that they will be
getting the best possible service.
The total annual electrical and electronic equipment related waste
(WEEE) in
the UK has been estimated to be in excess of 900,000 tonnes. Computers,
monitors and miscellaneous IT equipment account for nearly 14% of this
waste. Wherever possible, the reuse of
computer equipment greatly reduces this waste. The
WEEE directive enforces the recycling of electrical waste and ensures
compliance is achieved against EEE producer targets set by the
government.
Many large companies may wish that their
redundant computers are put to a second use which benefits society and
the community. This approach can demonstrate a company's social
responsibility and can generate public relations benefits especially to
demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). BRES can help
do this with donations going to a charity of your choice or to
developing countries to bridge the so called 'digital divide'.
There
would be a charge to cover freight and refurbishment costs.
Please contact us to discuss this.
Another avenue for disposal of unwanted
IT equipment is through commercial asset management where by
we offer an asset recovery service that is tailored to the
client's needs.
The solution offered by BRES is unique
in that both set of options are available to the client. On the one
hand, unwanted equipment may be donated through the charity route
demonstrating the client's CSR
credentials whilst, valuable high end equipment may be re-deployed or
disposed of through the asset recovery route.
